临安线地处北亚热带湿润区,受季风环流影响,形成的气候特点是:四季分明,气候温和,雨水充沛,日照充足,无霜期长。气温,1月平均气温在2.8℃左右;7月平均气温在28℃左右。全年无霜期220天左右。无锡市区年平均降水量在1048毫米。雨季较长,主要集中在夏季。全年降水量大于蒸发量,属湿润地区。无锡市区日照时数2019.4小时。常见的气象灾害有台风、暴风、连阴雨、干旱、寒潮、冰雹和大风等。
路段所处地势平坦,设计段起点A的桩号为K0+000。据钻探鉴别、现场静力触探试验、标准贯入试验结果及室内土工试验成果等资料分析,获得设计路段土层的基本分布情况为:表土层(1-2m),灰-灰黄色粉质粘土(2-3m),灰-青灰色淤泥质粉质粘土(4m以下),再往下是灰色泥岩。
设计的最初,在定线时选择了三条路线,由于沿线较多学校、公司工厂及及居民区,避开学校,尽可能不经过公司,最终经反复思考,定出了较合适的路线。

平面设计中设有6个特殊点,4个转角,4段圆曲线段,半径为1900m,1500m,600m,1000m。缓和曲线为130m,250m,250m,130m。曲线间直线最小长度的要求同向曲线间的直线最小长度以不小于480 km,反向曲线之间的直线段最小长度不可小于160 km。

土石方调配,分横向调配和纵向调配。并计算借方,弃方和总运量。通过土石方调配来解决设计道路的土石方数量的平衡与利用,在国家政策和技术经济的条件下,尽可能移挖作填,避免不必要的借方和弃土。
路基设计重点考虑路基的设计和利用圆弧法来计算土体稳定性。修筑挡土墙是为了阻止土体坍滑,主要受侧向土压力。用于路堤的支撑,路堑边坡、隧道洞口、桥梁两端等等。挡土墙的设计和排水设施布置,挡土墙采用重力式挡土墙。重力式挡土墙结构简单,施工简便,故采用重力式挡土墙。

At the beginning of the design, three routes were chosen when setting the line. Because more schools, factories and residential areas were chosen along the route, avoiding schools and not going through the company as far as possible, a more suitable route was finally determined after repeated thinking.
