Importance of Grammar Teaching in Middle School English Teaching
摘 要:纵观国内外中学阶段的外语教学,语法教学的合理性仍是争议焦点。本文采用文献研究法,从语法的概念及中学语法教学现状出发,发现中国当前的中学语法教学存在学生语法学习意识薄弱、教师教学方法落后的问题,提出中学英语语法教学的方法,即教师在语法教学中应多关注学生的课堂兴趣点,在此基础上更新教学方法,结合教材设置情景教学,创设学习语境,引起人们对语法教学的重视。从而使中学英语的语法教学发挥其最大效能,最终实现学生的英语综合能力的可持续发展。

Abstract:In foreign language teaching in middle school at home and abroad, the rationality of grammar teaching is still the focus of controversy. This article adopts the literature research method to explore the problems which exist in middle school English grammar teaching: students’ poor awareness of grammar learning and teachers’ out-dated traditional teaching methods. Finally it sums up the methods of middle school English grammar teaching. In grammar teaching, teachers should concentrate on the students’ interests in the classroom. What is more, the teaching methods should be updated in connected with the teaching materials. The situational teaching should use to create the learning context. Purposes of this article are to draw people’s attention to grammar teaching, make the middle school English grammar teaching more efficient and improve the sustainable development of students’ English comprehensive ability.

Importance of Grammar Teaching in Middle School English Teaching
I. Introduction
In the process of foreign language teaching in middle school at home and abroad, the grammar teaching has played an important role. Actually, the process of foreign language teaching is the same as the process of grammar teaching. With the emergence of some new language teaching theories, the status and role of grammar teaching have been questioned since the middle of the 20th century. And grammar teaching is still the focus of controversy. This controversy is particularly obvious after the introduction of the new curriculum standards. And this circumstance causes disorder in the English teaching.
In China, due to the misunderstandings of grammar teaching, some teachers dare not openly get involved in grammar teaching. They don’t recognize the importance of grammar in middle school English teaching. This has negatively impacted English teaching in middle schools. Therefore, it is important for teachers to infiltrate grammar in teaching. Students are proficient in mastering basic grammar knowledge, which is a basic prerequisite for improving students’ test scores and learning ability. Teachers should be more concerned about the flexible teaching techniques. The literal teaching can’t be the effective method. It is important to cultivate students’ self-observation and analysis through the guidance of teachers. In fact, grammar only penetrates into every aspect of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Only in this way can students master the basic knowledge of grammar in order to truly achieve the effect of infiltration.
Grammar teaching is the basic but guiding part of English teaching. According to the previous research, there has been many studies about the importance of English grammar teaching in middle schools. However, it is a pity that they are not systematically. Therefore, this article takes English teaching in middle school as an entry point, consults a large amount of data, analyzes the current situation problems of English grammar teaching, and then summarizes the penetrating methods of grammar in middle school English teaching.
