Metaphorical idioms in English and Chinese are closely related with people’s thinking. They not only embody the cultural characteristics, but also reflect the characteristics of thinking, and Chinese and English in terms of culture and thinking have similarities and differences. Metaphorical idioms are the combination of words which means something different from the inpidual words of the idioms. This kind of idioms mainly conclude simile, metaphor, synecdoche and some other idioms. They also take a considerable proportion in English and Chinese language.
