摘 要：《阿甘正传》在主题励志方面进行深刻描写和大胆创造。小说从一个智障者的视角出发，对其经过自身努力之后取得了人生成功这段经历进行了生动描写，以其特有的视角揭示人民在精神生活中所遇到的种种困扰都是当代美国工业技术发展所造成。它已不仅是一部影片，它已成为了一种文化现象。它带人们重温了美国从60年代起30年的历史，并在这个丧失了很多坚定信念的时代，以一个平民英雄的形象发生了对美国传统个人英雄主义、“美国梦”、以及传统家庭价值观的回归。本文运用文章细读、分析、社会学者批评等方法，讲述了美国传统的英雄观和价值观。在论文最后论述了《阿甘正传》是对美国社会那种以自信、真诚和对爱的尊重为核心的传统价值观的回归。

Abstract：Forrest Gump takes profound description and bold creation in the theme of encouragement. From a perspective of the mentally disabled, it describes the experience of success which is gained by his own efforts. With its unique perspective, revealing the all sorts of problem that people in the spiritual life are caused by the contemporary American industrial technology development. Forrest Gump is not only a novel; it has become a cultural phenomenon. It takes people to relive the America history from the 60’s of 30 years, and in this era of lost a lot of conviction, as a civilian hero occurred on the traditional personal heroism, “American dream” and the traditional family values regression. This article reveals the loss of the traditional hero concept and regression through Forrest Gump’s pure character analysis. This article uses article reading, analysis, social criticism and other methods, to describe the American tradition of the concept of the hero and values. At the end of the paper, which discusses Forrest Gump is a return to the American society of traditional values, which is the core of confidence、sincerity、and respect for love.

American Traditional Values’ Recurrence through Forrest Gump

I. Introduction

Forrest Gump is not only a movie that won the 1995 Oscar prize of the sixty-seventh, it has become a cultural phenomenon. Robert Zemeckis, the film’s director, commented on his film: “in my opinion, this is the unique point of the film: it re-affirmed the old moral and social main body culture, promote the sixty’s mainstream ideology of the United States, at the same time it also denied the other new culture (Luo 7-8). Forrest Gump topples the normal heroic image of world, which runs counter to the traditional concept, with strong anti-tradition, anti-mainstream(Reich 849-851). The article use article analysis, social science criticism, audience feedback criticism and the character disposition analysis to tell the underground after World War II, and analysis the characters about Forrest, Jenny and Bubba. Finally, the article appeals the more Americans to return home, keep confidence and respect for loves. Actually, Forrest Gump is a fictional character，and it just wants to teach us a kind of life attitude, which is when we meet difficulties in life, no matter how bad the environment is, to do your best. Forrest Gump’s spirit gives us a great deal of power to deal with something bad.
