摘 要:小学是英语教学的基础和启蒙阶段,是英语教育成功的关键。多年来,如何提高小学英语教学质量,一直是英语教育研究的重要课题。由于小学生独有的心理、生理特点,如何在课堂中提高学生的注意力,激发学生的兴趣,成为了小学英语教学的关键。游戏教学法是小学英语教学中一种常用的手段,让游戏在小学生英语课堂中施展它的魅力,不但可以活跃课堂教学的气氛,还可以激发学生学习英语的兴趣,从而促进学生英语能力的提升,提高教学效果。
本文在已有的国内外教学理论的基础上,以游戏教学法在小学英语课堂教学中的应用为研究对象,对江苏省徐州市解放路小学四年级的100名学生进行试验,采用比较法以及数据分析的手段,探索“游戏教学法”对小学英语教学的作用及意义,并对怎样在小学英语课堂教学过程中应用游戏教学提供了策略和建议。

A Study on the Application of Game Teaching Method in Primary School English Teaching
1 Introduction
The importance of English education cannot be overstated in an increasingly globalized world. As the foundation and enlightenment stage of English learning, English teaching in the primary school is the key to success in English education. Therefore, the improvement of English teaching quality in primary school has been a major topic of English education for years. However, research shows that students’ less interest in English learning is a huge obstacle to the efficiency of primary-school English teaching. Being affected by multiple factors, many English teachers in primary school have significant difficulty in attracting and maintaining pupils interest in English learning, which ultimately causes frustrated teaching results. Relevant survey data shows that “At the very beginning pupils are enthusiastic about this new language: 69% of the pupils show interest in learning English; in Grade 4, one third of the pupils do; in Grade 6 only 30% of the pupils do have interest while 42% of the pupils show no interest in learning English” (Zhou, 2008), it is obvious that pupils become less and less interested in English learning with the learning going further. Therefore, to attract and maintain pupils’ interest may be one of the most difficult problems for primary-school English teachers. There is a saying goes that “Education must be fun”, the introduction of “Game Teaching Method” to primary English teaching offers the pupils a chance to study for fun, which can also inspire their learning motivations. In the long run, this method will help to improve the pupils’ English ability and to increase the efficiency of English teaching in primary school.
From the point of view of pupils’ acquisition of English, this thesis focuses on the application of the “Game Teaching Method” in primary English class, and attempts to find out the effect and impact of “Game Teaching Method” on primary English teaching. Moreover, it is hopeful that some suggestions could be given on how to effectively apply the “Game Teaching Method” in the primary English class.
