With the development of Chinese and Western communication, English has become an international communication tool. In general, most Chinese students in the third grade of primary school have started to learn English, but when they learn English, they aren’t good at English practice. Because the facilities of Chinese school and the ability of teachers are all limited, so many Chinese students do not have the opportunity to participate in series of English listening and speaking in the usual activities of daily life. Today, as a unique communication tool, English is gradually playing an important role in all aspects. If students want to learn English well, they need to understand some of the differences between China and Western culture. The Confucian education thought is deeply rooted in China, so Chinese students in learning English will always give priority to their thinking; this will make English learning with a certain obstacles. Therefore, this paper mainly introduces some obstacles existed in the English learning, differences of Chinese and western culture, and puts forward the solution, which make English learning much fun.

This article has five parts. The first part describes the background and the significance of the topic. The second part is the reason of the formation for topic. The third part is the manifestation of the existence of the topic. The fourth part is the analysis of the topic and putting forward reasonable opinions. The fifth part is the conclusion.

II. Economic and Geographical Reasons for the Formation of Cultural Differences

China’s traditional economy is a typical self-sufficient economy. People are more conservative. Because they rely on a piece of land which will foster them for a lifetime, culture is introverted. The ancient Chinese civilization originated in the river basin, it is an agricultural civilization. “Agricultural civilization personality” creates Asians who focus on ethics, seeking the life which is “harmonious, tolerant” life. While, Western ancient Greek civilization originated in the Aegean coast, which is the ocean civilization. The Europeans like to explore outward culture and they are more outgoing. Because of western land is poor, and full of many mountains, it is not suitable for agricultural production, so agricultural products will be unable to meet the needs of their own, which makes the western countries to trade with other countries frequently. After the Industrial Revolution, western countries have stepped into the industrial economy. The westerners have a strong fighting spirit, which is used to maintain their own interests, and they pursue the independent, free, and equal principles of life.
