A foreign language teaching is a way of teaching a foreign language that is based on systematic principles and procedures. A foreign language teaching is a way that a foreign language is best taught and learned. It is not easy to learn a foreign language, and it is more difficult to teach a foreign language. Foreign language teachers understand a language well, which does not mean that they can teach the language well. Teachers should understand foreign cultures. Teaching is an art as well as a science. If teachers do not know foreign culture, they cannot hope to achieve good results. The old saying goes: “Travel broadens the mind”. In the same way learning foreign cultures will surely broadens the mind of teachers. So teachers will teach foreign language well. Language is a unit of culture. Cross-cultural communication and foreign language teaching are inseparable. Teachers teach language knowledge. More importantly, they cultivate students’ communicative competence, and develop students’ ability to use foreign languages. The ability of cross-cultural communication is a basic purpose for students to learn foreign languages.
