摘要:随着社会经济和教育的发展,我国适时提出了新课程改革。受其影响,初中英语教学也正在经历着教学观念和教学方法两大方面的的改革。本文讨论了现阶段初中英语教学中教师对新课程标准及其教学方式、学生在英语学习过程等方面出现的问题,并从教师和学生两个角度提出了针对性的解决方法。本文意在通过探究,得出有助于提高初中英语课堂教学质量,提高初中生英语学习效率和水平的策略。

Abstract:The new curriculum reforming is ongoing with the progress and the development of the society and education. Meanwhile, junior middle school English education is going through changes of teaching ideas and methods. This paper discusses the problems of teachers’ lack of comprehension on the New Curriculum Standard, teachers’ problems in the teaching, and students’ problems in learning, appearing in middle school English class. And some effective solutions are put forward to these problems from the aspects of teachers and students. It is intent to improve the English teaching qualities, students’ English learning efficiency and English level in middle school.

I. Introduction

  The curriculum reforming involves classroom teaching methods, textbooks and assessment standards. The reforming fundamentally transforms the relation between teachers and students into a term where teachers not only teach knowledge but also communicate mentally with students, who are the protagonists of the class and look forward to learning English. Textbooks are now required to reflect the new educational requirements of delivering knowledge, skills, learning methods and physically and mentally healthy concepts to students instead of just traditionally putting knowledge into their minds like before. Researchers continue exploring how to comprehend the concept of the New Curriculum Standards and how to improve English class teaching qualities and the students’ English level in junior middle school. The problems in teachers’ aspects mainly come from the lack of comprehension of the New Curriculum Standards and the drawbacks of English teaching methods. And the problems of students are basically due to the negative effect of linguistic and cultural differences and the lack of good habits and learning methods. The ultimate objective of the paper is to do researcher’s utmost to dig the solutions to the problems of English teaching and learning. The solutions to the problems of teachers is concluded from the sides of making innovation and reforming, optimizing of their own teaching methods, introducing cultural differences to students in various ways, and setting up harmonious relationship with students. And the solutions to the problems of students are expressed in adaption to the new teaching forms, the formation of good English learning habits and how to change students’ attitudes towards English learning into correct ones.

 This paper is a summary of some common problems in Chinese middle school English teaching and learning aiming at finding out the solutions to the issue from the perspective of teachers and students.
