摘 要:游戏教学在当今的教育中已经变得非常重要,在追求高质量的英语课堂的同时,它越来越得到大家的认可。本文主要探讨的是游戏教学对小学生英语学习动机的影响,游戏教学有很多益处,它能调动孩子们学习的积极性,使课堂变得生动有趣。它对小学生英语学习的兴趣、学习效率、学习态度等方面的动机都有重要影响。因此,在教师的指导下,根据学生的需要和英语学习上的存在问题,进行英语游戏教学是非常有意义的。

Abstract:Game teaching of primary school has become very important in today’s education, When we pursue high quality English class, it has got approval by more people. This paper will discuss the effects of game teaching on students’ English learning motivation in primary school. Game teaching has many advantages, it can mobilize students’ enthusiasm to learn English and make the classroom lively and interesting. It has an important influence on the students’ interest in English learning, learning efficiency, learning attitude etc. Therefore, according to the problems and the need of students in learning English, we can use the game teaching under the guidance of teachers. Then we can use it to help students to learn English.

The Effects of Game Teaching on Students’ English Learning Motivation in Primary School

I. Introduction

   Since the new curriculum has reformed, teachers and parents has bored with the traditional mode of teaching. Especially in the primary school classes, the teaching methods are so stiff as to restrict the students’ creative thinking, and it always depresses the students’ learning interests. We must pay attention to these phenomenon and find ways to solve them. And English Curriculum Standard  has made it clear that the students must be interested in learning, and build up their confidence in English learning realize. However, the traditional teaching methods cann’t be conducive to the realization of these goals. Under the traditional teaching modes, students have gradually lost their interests in English learning.

   Wu Fenfen did a survey about the changes of students’ interests in English learning. In her survey, it shows that 49% of the students’ English learning interests are gradually declining in the process of learning English(Wu 120). It also shows that the teachers cann’t arouse the students’ learning interests in the teaching process. As we know, interest is the best teacher; if the students lose interest, it will be difficult to ensure that students can learn English well, so it is urgent to find way to solve this problem.

   Making full use of game teaching to cultivate students’ interests and build students' self-confidence become the main tasks under the new curriculum reform. And the use of game teaching in English learning is based on the characteristics of teaching content and it is very useful to carry out the game teaching. In English teaching, the use of the game is to replace the conventional mechanical training with the prior and these games can be used in all aspects of teaching. As a result, dull and mechanical training will be replaced by the lively games. Only in this way, the pupils can gradually learn basic language knowledge and skills effectively, and their interest can stimulate and improve English learning. Their cooperation ability, learning attitude and self-confidence will toward to the positive direction, in the game teaching and the students’ learning achievements will also be improved accordingly.
