According to the reform, assessments should be given based on multiply different forms, such as letting students read newspapers and share their impression of what they have read. Assessments should be given on the sense of initiative, driving power and responsibilities to keep the fittest in and the others out. Assessment is given in order to impel students to develop their integrate abilities and help teachers to modify and improve their teaching methods based on feedback from students. Assessments should be done on persified qualities and persified directions, paying special attention to student’s integrated language skills and effects to their study. Formative assessments and final assessments should be combined to a harmonious unification.

3.2 Optimizations of Teaching Methods and Situations

   3.2.1 English Teaching Forms

   In middle school English education, the teaching method should not be just one. It should be persified as there are different designs for different students. Teachers should design good teaching tasks on different students in order to improve students’ English interest in the class based on the following considerations:

A. Effectiveness of the Teaching Method.

The teaching method should be flexible and changeable, otherwise it may make students uninterested. Different teaching tasks should be designed for different students based on their learning situations. For high-achieving students, teachers can assign them specified tasks like reading a book in English and writing down their impressions. And for students who may not be so interested in learning English, teachers can create situations for them with slideshows and ask them questions like “Which of these do you think is the most beautiful place?” to arouse their interest in a conversation/dialogue.

B. Multi-level Teaching

   Many researchers have showed that one of the most common teaching method in middle school in China is the class-piding method. Regarding students as the center in the regular teaching methods, it goes differently with the traditional valuation approaches on teachers’ qualifications, teaching methods or evaluation criterion towards students, and it pides students into excellent and normal ones, for those who are good at foreign languages and capable of learning more what is not taught to others, and it sets up an express lane for them. On the one hand, excellence education can not only help them improve their basic skillls of listening, speaking, reading, writing but also other special abilities. On the other hand, weak students can get  some good chances to improve their integrated skills. This is a design based on students’ real needs with pertinence to what they can do and what they need to do, and it benefits all the students with their English learning as much as possible.
