初中英语词汇教学中的问题及对策

Problems and Countermeasures of English Vocabulary Teaching in Junior Middle School


摘 要:众所周知,词汇学习是语言学习的基础,因此词汇教学是初中英语教学的重要任务。本文的目的是探索初中英语词汇教学中存在的问题,并提出相应的对策。根据英语词汇教与学的基本原则,通过对初中英语词汇教学中存在问题诸如教学过程单一、教学方法不科学、忽视学生学习过程等的分析,作者指出为解决这些问题我国初中英语词汇教学应该运用语言策略,采用多样教学法,培养学生的自主学习习惯和能力。本文共分为五部分。第一部分是对全文的介绍,包括对英语词汇教学现状的阐述和论文框架的简介;第二部分是理论背景,引入了词汇教学的相关理论,并强调了词汇教学的重要性;第三部分指出了词汇教学中存在的问题并进行分析;第四部分提出词汇教学的策略;最后一部分是对全文的总结。希望本文能为英语词汇教学提供有价值的建议。

Abstract: It is well known that vocabulary learning is the basis of language learning, so vocabulary teaching is an important task of English teaching in junior middle school. The purpose of this paper is to explore the problems existing in English vocabulary teaching in junior middle school and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures. According to the basic principles of English vocabulary teaching and learning and through the analysis of the existing problems in English vocabulary teaching in junior middle schools such as the simplex teaching process, unscientific teaching method as well as ignoring students' learning process, the author points out that to solve these problems in English vocabulary teaching, Chinese junior middle school should use language strategy, adopt various teaching methods and cultivate students' autonomous learning habit and ability. This paper is pided into five parts. The first part is an introduction to the paper, including the elaboration of the current situation of English vocabulary teaching and the brief introduction to the framework of the paper; the second part is theoretical background, in which the related theory of vocabulary teaching is introduced, and the importance of vocabulary teaching is emphasized; in the third part the problems existing in the teaching of vocabulary are pointed out and analyzed; vocabulary teaching strategies are put forward in the fourth part, the last part is the summary of the paper. It is hoped that this paper can provide some valuable suggestions for the English vocabulary teaching.

Problems and Countermeasures of English Vocabulary Teaching

in Junior Middle School

I. Introduction

   Vocabulary teaching is an important part of junior middle school English teaching. The new curriculum standard has a higher request on vocabulary with the students’ vocabulary in junior middle school increasing from the original 800 words to 1500-1600 words together with 200-300 idioms or fixed collocation, and "learning to use" being emphasized. It also puts forward higher requirements on vocabulary teaching. But in the actual vocabulary teaching, there are a lot of problems, and teaching situation is not optimistic. Current examination system in which the final grade is emphasized causes vocabulary teaching not to be important, thus results in that students and teachers do not to pay enough attention to vocabulary teaching and learning, which is very bad for middle school students to improve their English. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the recognition of the importance of middle school English vocabulary, and to strengthen the middle school English vocabulary teaching.
